hey human

____________

our eyes have got iris which regulates the amount of light by expanding or contracting.

the amount of light which enters is through the pupil.

Our eye receptors just can't stand sudden change in intensity of light and hence something called adaptation of eye comes in.

This allows our eye receptors to get familiar with the intensity of light and it takes about 1 - 1.5 minute.

you can't actually see properly when the eyes try to adapt to the intensity of light.

best described in- cinema halls.

furthermore, eyelids also play important role in protecting the eyes from sudden change in intensity. ( usually when it increases )
