Umbilical cord is connected from stomach to placenta.

  • Umbilical cord helps the mammalian baby to attach to placenta or womb to its mother. At placenta , both gas like oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged between mother's blood and baby's blood , through their blood will not ever come in direct contact. Two arteries and one vein present in umbilical cord. The arteries carry deoxygenated blood from fetus to placenta while oxygenated blood come back to fetal heart by the vein.
