An object that attracts iron and some other materials. Magnets are said to generate a magnetic field around themselves. Every magnet has two poles, called the north and south poles. Magnetic poles exert forces on each other in such a way that like poles repel and unlike poles attract each other

Magnet is a material which shows the properties of magnetism and creates a magnetic field around themselves like attracting iron objects, nickel etc. It is obtained from lodestone, a type of rock.It has two poles named , North and South pole. The poles of the magnet shows property that like poles repel each other and unlike poles attract each other. There are generally four types of magnet like horse shoe magnet, bar magnet etc.
