A magnifying glass, in effect, tricks your eyes into seeing what isn't there. Light rays from the object enter the glass in parallel but are refracted by the lens so that they converge as they exit, and create a "virtual image" on the retina of your eye.

magnifying action mean making size of image enlarge in comparison with the size of object...

As magnification of a lens is the defined as the ratio of the size of the image to the size of object.

it is denoted by letter m ,

m = size of image / size of object

The magnitude of magnification decide the size of image as compared to the size of the object.

If m = 1 , then size of image = size of object

if m > 1 , then size of image is larger than size of object

if m < 1 , then size of image is smaller than that of the object size.

Sign of magnification tells about the nature of the image whether it is real or virtual

If m is positive , image will be Virtual

If m is negative , image will be real
