-1.602 x 10^-19 C is magnitude of electron but the charge of the electron is equivalent to the magnitude of the elementary charge but bearing a negative sign

The magnitude of charge on an electron is - 1.6* 10^-19 Coulombs . It is just the opposite of charge on proton. The only difference is electron has negative charge while electron has positive charge
