LPG is a mixture of propane and butane. The composition is determined by the geography you live in.

In colder nations, LPG will be a propane rich product. This is because the boiling point of propane is -42 Deg C and in cold countries like Scandinavian countries, where the temperature can go to -10 Deg. C and -12 Deg. C LPG will still remain a liquid as it’s a propane rich product. In tropical countries like India, LPG is a butane rich product. This is because butane has a higher boiling point (-1 Deg.C).

Therefore the temperature of the country will determine the main component of LPG.
