Answer:

Respiration,

It is the movement of oxygen from the outside environment to the cells within tissues, and the removal of carbon dioxide in the opposite direction.

There are 2 types of respiration,

  • Aerobic Respiration,

It is a chemical reaction that transfers energy to cells. The waste products of aerobic respiration are carbon dioxide and water.

     Formula-  C₆H₁₂O₆ +  6O₂ ⇒ 6CO₂ +  6H₂O

  • Anaerobic Respiration,

Anaerobic respiration transfers energy from glucose to cells. It occurs when oxygen is not present. It transfers large amounts of energy quickly.

Formula⇒ glucose + enzymes = carbon dioxide + ethanol / lactic acid.
