Diamagnetism:- when substance placed in magnetic field , acquire feeble magnetism opposite to the direction of magnetic field .such type of property known as diamagnetism. these substances are repelled by magnet..
their permeability is less then one
the resultant magnetic moment of these substances is zero.
paramagnetism:-when substances placed in magnetic field , acquire feeble magnetism in the direction of the magnetic field. these are freely attracted by magnet.
their permeability is slightly greater then 1. these substances have a permanent magnet moment
ferromagnetism:-when substances placed in magnetic field are strongly magnetised in the direction of the field .
these type substances aren't liquid. their permeability is much greater then One.
these substances also have a permanent magnet.
their permeability is less then one
the resultant magnetic moment of these substances is zero.
