The main ingredient used for making Bhindi masala is Bhindi. Bhindi is a vegetable also known as lady's finger or okra.
The dish Bhindi masala is made by stir frying stuffed bhindi or okra that has been slit open and stuffed with an Indian spice mix called as the garam masala. Other locally available ground spices along with gram flour can also be used for stuffing according to one’s taste.
It is usually served as an accompaniment with roti or steamed rice.

Additionaly tumeric powder and some times dry mango powder(amchar powder) is also used.
