What is the main role of a gram-positive and a gram-negative bacteria?

gram negative cell walls contain a thin peptidoglycan layer(without teichoic acids) that os surrounded by a thick plasma membrane. Gram negative bacteria will stain red because the thin peptidoglycan layer is surrounded by the plasma membrane and thus will not stain with crystal violet....
Gram positive bacteria are bacteria that give a positive result in the gram stain test , which is traditionally used to quickly classify bacteria into two broad categories according to their cell wall.....
