Human skin cells are differentiated cells. They are differentiated from their ‘mother’ basal cells with its specific function and accosted life-span. They contain a diploid number of chromosomes. They are somatic cells. It is not totipotent.

A human egg cell is an undifferentiated totipotent cell. It is a germ cell and is produced in the female reproductive system as an egg cell. It contains a haploid number of chromosomes formed by undergoing meiosis. The egg cell undergoes too many changes to form a zygote and then grow into an embryo and a baby.
