here is your answer..
I live in New Delhi and the main source of water, here is Yamuna river. We get our water supply from Haryana through a canal which is connected to Yamuna.
Delhi Jal board is responsible for water supply in New Delhi. Water is being processed through water treatment plant and supplied us through pipe lines.
Pollution
Yamuna is also very polluted river and the main reason of its pollution is New Delhi itself.
All the waste and polluted water are realsed in river without treating it properly. Almost all the major canals or nalas are connected to yamuna.
