The total mass of mercury is 13.6kg

Given:

Quantity of mercury = 1L ( In g and kg)

The density of the liquid mercury = 13.6 g / cm³

To Find:

The total mass of mercury

Solution:

Using the formula of mass -

Mass = Volume × Density

Therefore, mass of 1L of mercury in gms -

Substituting the values -

= 1L ( 1000 cm³/ 1L) ( 13.6 g / cm³)

= 1.36 × 10~4

Now, determining mass in kg -

= 1.36 × 10~4 × 1kg/100g

= 13.6

Answer: The totla mass of mercury is 13.6kg
