Alliteration is the repetition of the same sound in a line.
For example: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Here, the 'p' sound is repeated.
Metaphor is when a line is being compared with natural objects/human emotions.
For example: "I'm drowning in a sea of grief."
Here, grief is so overwhelming that the person feels helpless, like they're being pulled underwater.
Hope it helps :)

Alliteration is the repetition of the same letter sound across the start of several words in a line of text. The word comes from the Latin “littera,” meaning “letter of the alphabet”. The current definition of alliteration has been in use since the 1650s.
