Hybridization is the idea that atomic orbitals fuse to form newly hybridized orbitals, which in turn, influences molecular geometry and bonding properties.Hybridization is also an expansion of the valence bond theory.

It is the process by which two dissimilar plants with desired characteristics are mated or crossed. The resultant plant will have the characteristics of both the parent plants.

In this process, two plants are selected having desirable traits and the pollen bearing anthers of female plant are removed so that only the selected male pollen can pollinate it. The hybrid plants produced by this method will display desirable traits of both parent plants.
