This is my one the most favourite songs. I would love to share my feelings about this song.
“You were the shadow to my life, Did you feel us?” Shadows are only created when there is a source of light, so basically Alan is saying that He/She/Anything was the only source of happiness in her life, and did he feel that?
Another start, you fade away. Afraid our aim is out of sight, Wanna see us? Alive. She everything like before, but he “fades away” means he disappeared. And now their aim or something they wanted to achieve is not possible. She wants everything back like before.
Where are you now? Was it all in my Fantasy? Where are you now? Were you only imaginary? Atlantis, under the sea. Now she is in a search of that thing but she is unable to find it, so she is thinking that she only made it up in her fantasy/imagination and it's not real in her life. Atlantis is believed to be an island in Antarctica that is now lost or sunk into the ocean. Alan thinks that has also happened to her thing.
These shallow waters not met, what I needed. I'm letting go. A deeper dive. Eternal silence of sea, I'm breathing. Alive. She is now under the sea searching for her thing but whats she needs is shallow water meeting but that's is obviously not possible. Now she's taking a deeper dive. Sea has unending silence, but she is still alive.
Even I was so lost after hearing this song. It has a deep meaning. I wish this answer was helpful.
