Answer:

"Internal os" is a part of the uterus.

First let me tell the parts of the uterus:

1. Fundus

2. Body

3. Cervix

4. Fallopian tubes, etc.

Internal os:

It is actually a part of cervix of uterus. It is the part which opens from the cervical canal towards the body of the uterus.

Uses :

It is the part of the cervix in which the mucus plug is accumulated in order to prevent accidental miscarriage.

Internal os closed:

Due to presence of this mucus plug, the internal os remains closed. The reason is obvious; it prevents accidental abortion.

The internal opens and continues with the external os during delivery of the child.

Additional information:

There is also an external os. It is the part of cervix opening onto the vaginal canal.

It always remains open.

Answer:

Its the upper end of the cervix that opens into the uterus. The external osis the end of the cervix that opens into the vagina. So normal to be closeduntil youre term. Not sure why it would be checked on a 35 week ultrasound. But yes normal. \
