In spermatogenesis, single primary spermatocyte undergo meiosis-1 division and forms 2 secondary spermatocytes
Primary spermatocyte are diploid in nature after meiosis 1, secondary spermatocytes produced are haploid in nature.

firstly it is the step of spermiogenes and primary spermatocyte undergo meiosis because it should be haploid to take part in fertilization thats why it undergoes reduction division i.e meiosis
