A pseudostratified epithelium is a type of epithelium that, though comprising only a single layer of cells, has its cell nuclei positioned in a manner suggestive of stratified epithelia.

Pseudo= false
Stratified= multilayered

▶Pseudostratified Epithelium though comprising of single layer of epithelium ... it's nuclei are positioned in such a manner that it looks multilayered....

▶it's cells are columnar and unequal in size

▶the long cells extends upto free surface but the small cells do not

▶long cells have oval nuclei but short cells have round nuclei

=>thus ... nuclei lie at different levels... so even though it is single layered appears to be multi layered
