Question: What is the meaning of the proverb Rome was not build in a day?
Answer:
I am quite sure that you are familiar with the famous proverb, 'Rome was not built in a day.' But, Ever thought what does it tell us? Well, In my answer you are going to be cleared with the meaning of the quote and also an experience of mine where this proverb can be proved as its true.
So, The Meaning of "Rome was not built in a day."
If I am not wrong then, this famous proverb by John Heywood is very ease to hear but contains very meaningful learning. So, We are aware of Rome. Rome is the capital of Italy which is indeed a beautiful city. John Heywood says that this city wasn't built in a day. It took a lot of time to get built.
From the phrase he wants to claim that a big work or a long or a huge work can't be completed on a single day. It would take some time but it would be completed at the best. Similarly we don't achieve Success by the hard work of a single day, it requires many days of hard work and thus, Success of hard work cannot be achieved in a single day.
Today we know the badminton player who secured 2nd rank for India in Olympics. Yes, I am talking about P.V Sindhu, She has done a lot of hard work to achieve this position. It was only possible because of her dedicated hard work of a continuous period of days which achieved her this Success. All the Sports Players, IITians, Doctors and all the ones who have a great respect in this society never built the Rome in one day.
My Real-Life Experience on this:
Well, Frankly I am a Bharatnatyam dancer who was trained for 6 years and I was perfect with it. Other than Bharatnatyam, I used to perform solo dances on school functions or took part in any local or nearby competitions and in my Childhood I used to secure good prizes and positions. Most importantly I had a good impression on the audience and they loved my performance. The main reason for this was that I used to have a practice of dance due to my classes and because of that I could pick-up steps easily and perform it gracefully. But, Time changes quickly. It has been an year since I stopped my classes due to studies but, I was still in contact with solo dances and I used to perform. One thing I noticed a change in my performance was that before I could easily dance for 6-7 Minutes but now, I am feeling tiredness even if I dance for 2-3 Minutes. This was a very disappointing issue for me. Even my teachers who liked my performance earlier asked me for this, my reply to them was clear and truth. I accepted that I didn't used to have a good amount of Practice. I used to practice when the occasion was just 2 days to pass. But, I was really helpless as I was completely busy with my studies.
The Main thing which I wanted to convey is, My Rome that is the gracefulness in my dance was present when I used to regularly do my rehearsals and was in connect with my dance field. So, My Rome was not built in a day. Whereas if we see the situation of my state in a year it is like I am losing my Rome because of not contributing the amount which I have to in order to build my Rome.
I hope my experience, gave you any idea and Yes! I am working on my Perfectness in dance and I am sure I will be the same girl again of the past 6 years.
