✨chikis. Velocity ratio is defined as theratio of the distance moved by effort and load, in the same time interval. It is said and known : that in the first order of lever, velocity ratio is usually greater than 1 but could be less or equal to 1.

✨The distance and velocity ratios are therefore the same and can be calculated by the expression below. In this case the velocity ratio is 1/3. You may have observed that the closer the effort is to the fulcrum the greater the distance the load moves through.
