Median is the MID TERM of a sequence.

As we know that

Formula of Median in case of individual series

$median = size \: of \: ({ \frac{n + 1}{2} })^{th} \: item$
Here n = Number of observation.

$median = size \: of \: \frac{9 + 1}{2} \: item \\ = size \: of \: {5}^{th} \: item \\ = 149$

Since 149 is the 5th item. It is the median of above sequence.
