In this poem poet wants to say that the world could be destroyed by only 2 things I.e fire and ice. Here fire refers to the desire of the people and ice refers to hatred. people have unlimited desires which could result in the end of this world . similarly hatred among the people can destroy the unity of this world and ultimately this world
