Four NTP molecules are required to synthesise a peptide bond. Two ATP molecules are required for the activation of the amino acid, where by a high energy bond is formed between the tRNA molecule and the amino acid. One GTP molecule is required for movement of tRNA molecule to the A site of the ribosome and another GTP molecule is required for translocation within the ribosome.
