Answer : The minimum resistance which can be made by using five resistors each of 1 / 5 ohm will be 1/25 ohm

Explanation:

R1 = R2 = R3 = R4 = R5 = 1/5 ohm. ( given )

To find : Minimum Resistance ( Rp ) = ?

The Minimum Resistance is always obtained when the resistors are connected in parallel combination.

∴ 1/Rp = 1/ R1 + 1/ R2 + 1/ R3 + 1/R4 + 1/ R5

∴ 1/Rp = 25 / 1 ( after substitution R1 = R2 = R3 = R4 = R5 = 1/5 )

∴ Rp = 1/25
