QuEsTioN :-

what is the momentum of a man of mass 75 kg when he walks with a velocity of 2m/s.

AnSweR :-

  • The momentum of a man is 150 kg.m/s

GiVeN :-

  • Mass ( m ) = 75 kg
  • Velocity ( v ) = 2m/s.

To find :-

  • what is the momentum of a man ??

SoLuTioN :-

We all know that

↠ P = m × v

here,

  • m = mass
  • v = velocity
  • P = Momentum

Now,

putting the values in the above formula we get ,

↠ Momentum = 75 × 2 kg.m/s

↠ Momentum = 150 kg.m/s

Hence ,

The momentum of a man is 150 kg.m/s

✦ Extra shots :-

  • Momentum is defined as the effect produced by force.
  • It is the product of mass and velocit y.
  • It is a vector quantity as it has both magnitude and direction.
  • P = m × v

where, P = momentum, m = mass and v = velocity.
