What is the moral of character of Ekalavy

Eklavya was a good archer. He wanted to get trained under Dronacharya. But since he belonged to the shudras he couldn’t get training from him. So he made a statue of Drona and started training himself. When Drona visited him, he asked him for guru dakshina and that was his thumb finger. Without thinking, he gave away his finger. This shows he was a loyal student.
