The moral of the story is to be helpful and kind towards others.

  • Bukka was a little elephant who was very mischievous. He often used to play around and hurt others intentionally.
  • He had the thought process that one day he will be the king of the herd, thus he didn't bother to even speak to other animals.
  • He didn't like listening to his elders and always did things his own way. He was even apprehensive about sharing the food with others and kept it all to himself.
  • He used to crush snails, put water in rabbit holes and broke flowers and branches having nests.
  • Tired of this the other animals then complained to the leader, and the leader then decided to teach him a lesson.
  • The same night he slept close to his mother, but when he got up he was alone on the pool banks. Terrified he started crying.
  • He turns to animals for help, but his help gets rejected on account of what he did to other animals. He starts to cry again and falls asleep. When he gets up he was again close to his mom.
  • He had learned his lesson, from that day no one complained about him anymore.
