In the atmosphere, oxygen is about 21 percent and nitrogen 78 %. The so-called noble gases complete the remaining one percent: helium (being extremely light ends up in the upper atmosphere), neon is about one part in 200,000, argon is about one percent, krypton (a real gas was adopted as the name for the mythical home world of Superman, xenon. Radon is a dangerous radioactive gas indoors but out in the atmosphere it is too rare to have negative consequences.
