Given :  Number   -2 1/4

To find : multiplicative inverse

Solution:

Multiplicative inverse of  a number  is the number which when multiplied with original number then result is  1.

Basically Multiplicative inverse of a number is reciprocal of the number

Multiplicative inverse of a  is  1/a   where a≠ 0

a * (1/a)  = 1

Multiplicative inverse of a/b  is  b/a   where a , b ≠ 0

(a/b) * (b/a)  = 1

-2 1/4  = -9/4

Multiplicative inverse of  - 9/4  is   4/(-9)

= -4/9

Hence -4/9 is the Multiplicative inverse of  -2 1/4

Verification :

(-9/4) (-4/9)  = 36/36 = 1
