Hi , there!!

molarity ( M ) = mole / liter

=> mass of NaOH = 40

given mass = 20

solution in liter = 500/ 1000
=> 0.5 l

now molarity = 20 / 40 / 0.5

=> 1 / 2× 0.5

=> 1 / 1

=> 1

now , normality ( N) = M × Valency

Valency of NaOH= 1

hence , N = 1

hope it helps you!!

thanks!!
