Answer:

a) sulphites

b) sulphates

Explanation:

a) when sulphuric acid reacts with salt of a volatile acid( due to non volatile nature of sulphuric acid),

it always gives salt having suphate anion.

Example;

1)H2SO4 + NaCl = NaHSO4+HCl

2)H2SO4 + KCl = KHSO4+HCl

3)H2SO4 + Na2S = Na2SO4 + H2S

b) when sulphurous acid reacts with salt of any volatile acid ,it always gives sulphites of the respective metal used .

Example ;

1) H2SO3 + NaCl = Na2SO3 + HCl

2) H2SO3 + KCl = KHSO3 + HCl

3) H2SO3 + Na2S = Na2SO3 + H2S
