The homosphere is a zone of the atmosphere where the constituent gases are fairly well mixed-on average the composition is homogeneous throughout. The heterosphere lies above the homosphere and is a zone of poor mixing where the average composition varies depending on the location within it.

homosphere extends up to 90kms.namely troposphere 1to10km and stratosphere 10to 50kms and stratosphere 50to 90kms.

heterosphere extends above the 90 kms.

called thermosphere and exosphere.
