Nastic Movements. Nastic movements in plants are not directional movements. They are not dependent on stimulus and are growth independent. For example, the leaves of a touch me not plant (Mimosa pudica), fold up immediately when touched.

thank you

Answer:

When we physically touch the 'touch-me-not' plants ,then our physical touch works as an external stimulus for the plant.

In the reaction of the external stimulus, a special type of chemical is secreted inside the leaves of the touch-me-not plants.

Due to this chemical secretion, the internal turgor pressure of the touch me not plant's leaves decrease and the leaves shrink it's physical size.

This plant movement is known as the chemotrophic movement.

hope it helps
