Denatured alcohol, also called methylated spirit or denatured rectified spirit, is ethanol that has additives to make it poisonous, bad-tasting, foul-smelling, or nauseating to discourage recreational consumption. It is sometimes dyed so that it can be identified visually.

Answer:
Denatured Alcohol is needed because alcohol is given to industries use without tax and it is cheaper than the available alcohols so some people try to steal it from industries and sell it . To stop it ,the government mixes some poisonous substance in it like methanol and it is then known as denatured Alcohol
