this is the answer to the first question and for the second question you have to go for the same formula again.

Given:

weight of the bag = 210 N

To Find:

  • the net force needed to lift a full grocery sack
  • the net force needed to accelerate the grocery sack upward at  1.5m/s²

Solution:

we know,

weight = 210N

now to lift the bag uniformly we need to balance this force and then slowly increase the force.

Force required = 210N  ( minimum)

now,

F = ma  -------(i)

we know,

weight = mg

⇒ 210 = m * 10

⇒ m = 210 / 10

⇒ m = 21 Kg

putting in equation (i)

F = 21 * 1.5

F = 31.5 N

So, the net force needed to lift full grocery sack = 270N, and the net force needed to accelerate the grocery sack upward at  1.5m/s² = 31.5 N
