  • Net force is the sum of all forces acting on an object or point.

  • i.e. A box experiences two forces, one to the left and one to the right, both 5 Newtons.

  • The net force would be 0 Newtons because the 5 Newtons from the left (-5) cancel the 5 newtons from the right (+5).
