According to Newton's third law of motion- When a body acts on another body then the another body also exerts an equal and opposite amount of force on the first body. The force acquired by the first body is called the force of 'action' nad tge force acquired by the second body is called the force of 'reaction '.

It can also be stated as - every action has an equal and opposite amount of reaction.
