the process in which the heavy nucleus of a radioactive atom (such as uranium , plutonium, or thorium) splits up into smaller nuclei when bombarded with low energy neutrons , is called nuclear fussion

Nuclear fission is a kind of nuclear reaction. It is when an atom splits apart into smaller atoms. Some fission reactions give off a lot of energy.

Examples:- 1.The best examples of the nuclear fusion is the energy of our sun. The sun is composed of lots of hydrogen and by the fusion of two isotopes of the hydrogen, helium is produced and in turn energy is released.

2.Uranium can fission to yield strontium and krypton. Fusion joins atomic nuclei together.
