what is the numerical ratio of average velocity to average speed of an object moving along a straight line path

Wonderful Question.

Answer will be 1.

Let me tell you the reason.

In case of straight line, velocity is same as that of the  speed. There will be no need to vector notations and nothing else. The Ratio will be same. Only difference lies in front and backward motion where velocity and speed varies. For example, if you have gone from A to B and then From B to A then Average velocity will be zero but Average speed will be non-zero.

Also,  Average velocity and speed will be same from A to B Journey.
