the process by which oxygen released into the atmosphere by photosynthetic organisms is taken up by aerobic organisms while the carbon dioxide released as a by-product of repiration is taken up for photosynthesis.

Hey!

When we say a cycle what does that mean?
Cycle means a complete round....To finish at the same place from where we have started.

So, in simple way I can say that oxygen is used and after that it is released!

Talking about it in a more better way!
Firstly it is a biogeochemical process.
We all are well aware that the process of oxygen release takes place with the help of the process called as photolysis.
This process occurred when ultraviolet radiation breaks the oxygen containing molecules.

And we know that during photosynthesis inorganic compound like CO2 and H2O are absorbed by the plants and gets converted into O2 and glucose.
And as such plants are the main producers of oxygen.

On the other hand you can see that while the process of respiration O2 is utilised.

So, here you can see that The process of Oxygen cycle took place.
