The parts of the plant cells from which we get roughage is a Cell Wall which contains the cellulose.
The animal cell is surrounded by an outer cell membrane. These type of cells do not need any protection as these are surrounded by a rigid skeleton which protects them.
The plant cells are surrounded by another layer other than the cell membrane called the cell wall.The cell wall in plants contains cellulose. The cellulose contains that particles that are not digested by the body and are partly broken down. The cell wall is important as it acts as roughage in our diet and is therefore very useful for us.
