Diagonal of square = root(2)a
4cm = root2 × a
a = 4/root2
=4/root2 ×root2/root2 (by rationalisation)
=4root2/2
= 2root(2)
therefore side of sqaure was 2root(2).
Area of sqaure = {2root(2)}^2
=4×2
=8cm^2
