what is the perimeter and area of the square whose diagonal is 4 centimetre

Diagonal of square = root(2)a

4cm = root2 × a

a = 4/root2

=4/root2 ×root2/root2 (by rationalisation)

=4root2/2

= 2root(2)

therefore side of sqaure was 2root(2).

Area of sqaure = {2root(2)}^2

=4×2

=8cm^2
