Answer:

Perimeter of square is 24 \ cm .

Step-by-step explanation:

To find : perimeter of square

Given : area of square is 36\ cm ^{2} .

Solution :

  • We know that all four sides of square are equal .
  • If ' a ' is the side of square then area of square is given by,

        Area of square = a^{2}

  • Therefore, by substituting the value in above formula we find side of square .

         36 = a^{2} \\\\\sqrt{a^{2} }= \sqrt{36}  \\\\a = 6\ cm

  • Now , since we know side of square , we can find perimeter of square.

       Perimeter of square = 4a

                                         = 4\times 6\\=24\ cm
