The ovulated ovum is surrounded by a zona pellucida and cumulus cells is caught after ovulation in the fimbriae of the fallopian tube and moved through the fallopian tube to the uterus. The fallopian tube nourishes the moving ovum or moving zygote (fertilized ovum).
