a press conference is a meeting or an event in which a person invites reporters and other people related to media so that they can ask him or her questions on a specific topics related to the person. it helps in organisation of questions and preventing repetition of specific questions that might irritate the person. also, it makes the time spent in such media related activities less, to increase productivity.
