Eligibility Criteria to become Prime Minister of India

To be eligible for the position of the Prime Minister of India, a person should:
Be a citizen of India.Be a member of either the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha.Complete 25 years of age if he is a member of the Lok Sabha or 30 years if he is a member of the Rajya Sabha.A person cannot be the Prime Minister of India if he holds any office of profit under the Government of India, the government of any state, or any local or other authority subject to the control of any of the said governments.

▪▪The President of India is the head of state and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. According to Article 60 of the Indian Constitution , the primary duty of the President is to preserve, protect and defend the constitution and rule of law. Article 58 of the Indian Constitution sets the qualifications that the person should possess. They are:

a citizen of Indiaof 35 years of age or moreeligible to be the member of the Lok Sabha

Also the person should not hold any office of profit under the Central Government or any of the State Governments. However few people are exempted from the rule, however they must vacate their offices if elected President.
