Range of frequency associated with infrasound is less than 20 Hertz
Range of frequencies associated with ultrasound is higher than 20,000 Hertz
Infrasound:
The sounds of frequencies lower than 20 hertz are known and infrasonic sounds..
Infrasonic sounds cannot be heard by human beings.
Infrasonic sounds are produced by those objects which vibrate very slowly.
Earthquakes and some animals like whales, elephant & rhinoceros also produce infrasonic sounds.
Ultrasonic sounds:
The sound of frequencies higher than 20,000 hertz are known as ultrasonic sounds.
Ultrasonic sound cannot be heard by human beings.
Dogs, dolphins , rats and bats can hear ultrasonic sounds.
Bats can also produce ultrasonic sounds while screaming.
We cannot hear the screams of a bats because its screams consist of ultrasonic sounds having a frequency much higher than 20 hertz it is beyond our hearing limit.
