S.I unit of Coefficient of viscosity = Kg/m/sec or, Kg/(m.sec)
∵ F = 6πηrv , here F is force , η is Coefficient of viscosity , r is the radius and v is velocity . S.I unit of force = Kgm/s²
S.I unit of r = m
S.i unit of v = m/s
Now, S.I unit of Coefficient of viscosity = Kgm/s²/{m.m/s} = kg/(m.sec)
Now, in C.G.S system,
1 kg = 10³g
1 m = 10²m
∴ C.G.S unit of Coefficient of viscosity = 10³/(10².1) g/(cm.sec) = 10 g/(cm.sec)
Now, ratio of S.I unit to C.G.S unit = 1kg/(m.sec)/10g/cm.sec) = 10
