what is the ratio of the weights of oxygen which combines with 10 kgs of sulphur in the formation of Sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide​

ANSWER;

SO2 CONSISTS OF 1mol S plus 1 mol O2

MOLAR MASS S = 32g/mol

MOLAR MASS O2 =32g/ mol

32g of S will combine with 32g O2

Therefore in SO2 : MASS sulphur : mass oxygen= 1:1

10kg sulphur will combine with 10kg oxygen SO3 consists of 1 mol S + 1.5 mol O2

32g of S will combine with 48g O2

Theréfore ratio mass sulphur to mass oxygen = 1:1.5

10kg sulphur will combine with 15kg oxygen.,..........
